DESCRIPTION:Prof. Emeritus Ir. K S Kannan is Professor Emeritus at UTM and is currently attached to ISI Ventures Sdn Bhd\, at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). He is a registered Professional Engineer with Practicing Certificate\, FIEM\, CEng\, FIMechE and Fellow ASHRAE.  He was BEM Board member from 1989 to 1992 and 1993 to 1998. Since then\, he has been active in various Standing Committees of the Board. Currently he serves in the Application Committee\, Examinations & Qualification Committee and the Engineering Accreditation Council of BEM. He has presented at several BEM roadshows on topics of BEM engineers’ registration and Professional Assessment Examination (PAE).

Graduated from International Christian University in 1994\, he had worked in private-sector corporations in Japan and in Singapore for 4 years before having entered the Graduate School of Science\, Hokkaido University in 1999.\nAt Hokkaido University\, he was trained to be a historian of science. He studied the history of geology in modern Japan to have taken master and doctor degrees in 2001 and in 2005 respectively. \nSince he joined KIT in 2004\, he has been involved in both first-year and engineering ethics education. As an PI\, he has conducted 6 researches with the support of Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research (KAKENHI); two in history of science\, four in science and engineering ethics. From August 2017 to August 2018\, he stayed at Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology as Visiting Associate Professor to conduct a participating research on engineering ethics education in Malaysia. \n\n\n\n\n\nProfessor Talal Yusaf currently hold the position of Executive Dean – Higher Education and Emerging Technologies\, Aviation Australia\, Queensland Government\, Australia\, and Adjunct Professor at Central Queensland University. Professor Yusaf commenced his role as Pro Vice Chancellor\, International and Partnership at Federation University Australia in September 2018\, and was the Executive Director (International and Research Partnership) at University of Southern Queensland (2008-2018). Professor Yusaf’s international university career has included teaching\, research and management positions in Southeast Asia\, the Middle East\, the United Kingdom and in Queensland for the last 31 years. \nProfessor Yusaf holds PhDs in renewable energy and biotechnology and has a strong research background in Renewable Energy and environmental pollution\, alternative fuels for IC engines and mechanical method for water treatment. Professor Yusaf’s academic qualifications include BSc (Hons) UoT Baghdad 1987\, PhD1 USQ Queensland Australia and PhD2 National Uni UKM Malaysia 1999.
